FAQ
Questions, answered.
What it’s for, what it’s made of, and how to look after it.
What is the AEGIS EDC carabiner for?
Everyday carry and gear organization: connecting a pouch to a pack, keeping keys or a water bottle within reach, or joining small items you like to keep together. It is not made for climbing, life support, overhead lifting, or restraining a load. The full hardware notice is at the bottom of every page.
How much weight can it hold?
Each carabiner has a 40 lb Safe Working Load for everyday gear. That rating is for carrying and organizing equipment, never for supporting a person.
How big is it, and how much does it weigh?
It measures 90 × 37 mm (about 3.5 × 1.5 inches) and weighs 15 grams (0.5 ounces), so it adds almost nothing to your kit.
What is it made of? Will it hold up outdoors?
The body is precision-molded POM acetal: tough, stiff, and fatigue-resistant, with high impact strength, low wear, and all-weather resilience. The matte finish keeps it subdued and easy to grip.
How do the gates and swivel work?
There are two gated hooks, one at each end. Press a gate in to clip on, and it springs closed behind the loop. The central swivel joins the two ends, so whatever is clipped to each side can turn without twisting the other.
Will the color look the same as it does on my screen?
Colors on the site are a digital reference. The final matte finish can look slightly different depending on the light around you and your screen settings.
How do shipping and returns work?
Shipping and return details will be posted here when the shop opens. Until then, email us at support@auroraaegis.com with any questions.
How do I care for it?
Rinse it with warm water and a little mild soap, then let it dry. Check now and then that both gates spring fully closed, and retire any carabiner that is cracked, deformed, or has a gate that no longer closes.
